As the results for the 2026 Assembly elections roll in for Assam, trends show that the incumbent BJP-led Northeast Democratic Alliance (NEDA) is leading in a staggering 97 out of 126 seats. Meanwhile, the Congress-led six-party Opposition, Asom Sonmilito Morcha (ASM) is leading in 26 seats. The NEDA is now poised to run the government for the third consecutive tenure with a slightly improved tally if the trends as of 12:00 PM are considered.
The NEDA inclues the Bharatiya Janata Party, the Asom Gana Parishad, the Bodoland People’s Front, and the Rabha Hasong Joutha Mancha. The ASM includes the Indian National Congress, the Raijor Dal, Assam Jatiya Parishad, and others.
